Lite suits you when a one-page site in one language is enough and the site changes rarely: you update texts, images and contact details, with 2 publishes a month. Basic suits most businesses, clubs and associations that publish news or events: two languages and unlimited publishes. Business suits you if you need three languages or monthly support work, or want us to make the changes for you. The size of the site is chosen separately, and you can change plan later.
What do I need to get started?
Your name, your e-mail and the name and field of your business or association are enough to get started. We ask for the Business ID (Y-tunnus) and billing address later. We don’t ask for a card, and an association without a Business ID gets started the same way.
When does billing start?
The monthly fee and the website build are billed only once you approve the launch. The first invoice has the website build and the monthly fee from the launch day to the end of the month. A new domain is registered only once you approve the launch, and its yearly fee is billed then. Notice period is one month.
What if I don’t approve the first version?
Then you pay nothing: neither the monthly fee nor the website build. Tell us what isn’t working and we’ll fix it – or cancel by replying to the e-mail we sent you. A new domain isn’t registered until you approve the launch.
What does the website build cost?
The website build is a one-off fee, and it depends on the size: a one-page site €790, a site of up to 6 pages €1,790, and a large site from €2,990, quoted individually (excl. VAT). Every site is built to your wishes.
Can I keep my current domain?
Yes. Choose “We already have a domain” when ordering. The domain stays with you, and we point it to the new site at launch. A DNS change costs €20; it’s included in Business.
Can I change plan?
Any time. The new price applies from the next billing period. Moving down removes none of your content. If you have more forms or users than the new plan includes, choose which ones stay before the new price begins; otherwise we take the extra ones out of use, the most recently added first. Languages the new plan doesn’t include stay and are billed as extra languages (€15 / month each).
Updating
How do I update my site?
Sign in at admin.houstie.fi and write what needs to change. You see a preview and approve it. Nothing goes live without approval, and every publish can be undone.
Who makes the change when I write a message?
Your message is handled by a language model that only edits your site’s editable content. Every change is checked against the site’s rules, and you see it as a preview before it goes live. Houstie’s team builds the first version, and our support team helps whenever you need it. The models run in the EU, and your data isn’t used to train them.
Is there a limit on changes?
What’s limited is publishes, not changes: one publish can hold many changes. Lite includes 2 publishes a month; Basic and Business are unlimited. Going back to an earlier version doesn’t count, and the count resets on the 1st. If Lite’s publishes run out, nothing is lost – publish again next month or move to Basic. Chat messages also have a fair-use limit to prevent misuse.
Which languages can my site have?
The languages are Finnish, Swedish and English. Lite has 1 language, Basic 2 and Business all 3. An extra language is €15 / month. You write in the main language and the others are translated automatically. Translations you’ve polished by hand are locked.
How do I get help?
Send a support request from the admin or write to hello@houstie.fi. Our support team helps you – we usually reply the same working day. Business includes 60 min of support work a month; otherwise support work is €20 per started 15 minutes, and we give you an estimate first.
Leaving and data
What happens if I leave?
Notice is one month: if you give notice in October, November is the last month billed. You get your content and images free of charge. You can also get the site as ready files (see below). If we registered your domain, it is in the name of Kaupunkilounaat Oy, the company behind Houstie, and we transfer it to you or your chosen provider for a €49 handling fee. A domain you already owned has been yours all along, at no cost.
Do I get my site’s files if I leave?
Yes. Your content and images are yours, free of charge. If you like, you also get the site as ready static files (HTML, CSS, images and content) that work on any web server. They are free if the website build was paid for, or once you have used the service for at least 12 months; otherwise they cost €790 (excl. VAT). Houstie’s own editing system – the editing rules and build tooling – stays with Houstie, so after that the files are updated like any ordinary website.
Where is my data, and how is it used?
Your data is stored in the EU. We use it to provide and invoice the service, and we never sell it or pass it on for marketing. We invoice through Visma Netvisor. Domains we register are in the name of Kaupunkilounaat Oy, the company behind Houstie, so your details aren’t passed to the domain registry. The first version is based on what you tell us, your current site and public business register data. See the privacy policy.
How secure is the site?
The pages are static, so there are no plugins to patch and no database to attack. A firewall protects every site, backups are automatic, and you sign in with a one-time code – no passwords.
How available is the service?
Our target is that customer websites are available 99.9% of the time each month, the admin 99.5% and editing by chat 99%. Your website stays up even if the admin is briefly unavailable. The targets are not a promise of compensation.
Yes. Several users with roles (Lite 2, Basic 5 and Business 10) and version history come with every plan, so the site never depends on one person. For associations we show prices incl. VAT and per year.
We write about what a site costs and what to ask of it. Even when the right answer isn’t us.
